On the occasion of World Environment Day, dated 05-06-2025, the District Education Officer (Elementary) participated in Environment Day celebrations held across various schools in Ludhiana.

During the event, saplings of neem, peepal, and moringa were planted at Government Primary School, Gyaspura, in collaboration with students and teachers. Similarly, at Government Primary School, Jandiali, saplings of neem, ashoka, and alstonia were planted. The students and teachers adopted these plants as their responsibility. On this occasion, students presented special performances to raise awareness, inspiring the parents, School Management Committee (SMC) members, and local panchayat who attended the event to take part in environmental conservation.

Speaking on the occasion, the DEO Ravinder Kaur shared that similar programs were organized across various schools in Ludhiana today. The initiative aims to instill a sense of responsibility among the younger generation towards environmental protection and plant preservation.

She appealed to all parents, teachers, and students to plant more trees around their surroundings and take proper care of them. “Trees should be considered living beings essential to human life,” she emphasized.
Deo Ravinder Kaur was accompanied by Mr. Baldev Singh, Head Teacher of GPS Madiani, and other staff members during the plantation activities.
