District Education Officer Conducts Surprise Visits Under “Sundar Kitchen” Mission
District Education Officer (Elementary) Mrs. Ravinder Kaur conducted surprise visits to government schools in Block Samrala and Block Machhiwara-2. These visits were part of the “Sundar Kitchen” mission, aimed at improving the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchens in government schools.

Challenges in School Management:
During the visit to Government Primary School Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Samrala, certain academic and administrative shortcomings were observed.
Immediate Action Taken:
The concerned Centre Head Teacher and Block Resource Coordinator were called on the spot, and strict instructions were issued to rectify the deficiencies immediately.
Activity-Based Learning Encouraged:
Under the “Mission Samarth”, teachers were encouraged to adopt activity-based learning according to students’ academic levels to ensure goal-oriented education.
Government’s Efforts and Future Plans:
Speaking to the press, Mrs. Ravinder Kaur stated that the Punjab government is making dedicated efforts to improve school education. Infrastructure grants are released from time to time to support this goal.
She also reviewed the ongoing Special Admission Campaign and motivated teachers involved in enrolling new students.
Focus of the “Sundar Kitchen” Mission:
Under this mission, school heads have already been issued guidelines for maintaining clean and well-functioning kitchens. Any school requiring maintenance grants for their kitchen can send a request via their respective block offices.
Providing a clean environment and nutritious meals to students remains the government’s top priority.
Mrs. Kaur added that teachers who perform exceptionally well will be honored at the district level, while those showing poor performance will be served notices.
This visit and the resulting actions reflect the government’s commitment to continuous improvement in school quality and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment for all students.
